The Hanna Instruments FC232D is a food-specific pH electrode for the HI 99163 portable pH meter with an open junction, Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), nontoxic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) body, conical tip, internal amplifier, viscolene electrolyte, seven-pin Deutsches Institut fr Normung (DIN) connector, and 1m (3.3') seven-pole cable. A pH electrode is commonly attached to a pH meter to measure the pH of a substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial, and food applications. The open junction of this electrode prevents clogging. An internal thermometer sensor provides ATC for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures. The 164mm high PVDF body is nontoxic for compatibility with food. The electrode has a 10 x 6mm (H x W) conical tip with 36mm high shaft for piercing meat. (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right.) An internal amplifier provides a strong low impedance signal from the electrode to the HI 99163 portable pH meter. The viscolene electrolyte provides a fast response. A seven-pin DIN connector provides tight cable connections. The electrode comes with a 1m (3.3') seven-pole cable.

Electrodes are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists in a wide variety of industries, such as aquaculture, agriculture, chemistry, food and beverage, wine-making and water-testing, and for scientific applications. An electrode can be used with a datalogger to assist in temperature measurement.
