The Hanna Instruments HI 1610D is a combination (full-cell) pH electrode with a single ceramic junction, Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), glass body, spherical tip, Deutsches Institut fr Normung (DIN) connector, and 1m (3.3') coaxial cable. A pH electrode is commonly attached to a pH meter to measure the pH of a substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial, and food applications. This electrode has a single ceramic junction with a flow rate of 15 to 20 microliters per hour for long electrode life in harsh environments. ATC is provided by internal thermometer sensor for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures. The 120mm high glass body with a 12mm outside diameter and 9.5mm spherical tip is for use in highly corrosive environments and high temperatures. A DIN connector provides tight cable connections. The electrode comes with a 1m (3.3') five-pole cable.

Electrodes are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists in a wide variety of industries, such as aquaculture, agriculture, chemistry, food and beverage, wine-making and water-testing, and for scientific applications. An electrode can be used with a datalogger to assist in temperature measurement.
