The Hanna Instruments HI93532R dual-input K-type thermocouple digital thermometer with calibration and RS-232 serial port is for use in applications requiring a broad range of temperature measurements, including furnaces, kilns, freezers, and other industrial applications. It measures temperature from -200 to 1371 degrees C (-328 to 2500 degrees F), with a best accuracy of + or - 0.5 degree C (1 degree F). The K-type thermocouple sensor has a broader temperature measurement range than a thermistor sensor but provides lower accuracy. This dual-channel thermometer has two inputs for connecting K-type temperature probes (not included), allowing the operator to measure the temperature of two samples at one time. An RS-232 serial port on the body of the thermometer allows measurement data to be transferred to a computer or printer (data cable not included). A calibration feature helps maintain measurement accuracy when the probe is changed. Measurement values can be stored in the thermometer's internal memory for later recall. The user has a choice of three display modes. The normal mode shows the current temperature and the highest or lowest temperature reading for the session. The relative mode shows the difference between the current temperature and a pre-set reference temperature. The average mode shows the average temperature value recorded from a starting temperature. The LCD screen is backlit for readability in low light. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. The hold function keeps a measurement on the display so it can be recorded. The thermometer operates on three AA batteries (included). To conserve battery life, the user can program the thermometer to automatically turn off after 8 or 60 minutes of non-use. The display shows current battery charge at start-up, and a low-battery indicator alerts the operator and turns off the thermometer when low battery charge might affect the accuracy of readings. A waterproof casing helps protect against damage from splashes and spills.
