The Hanna Instruments HI 1285-6 is a pH and electro-conductivity (EC) electrode for HI 9813 series portable meters and has a single cloth junction, Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), polypropylene plastic body, spherical tip, internal amplifier, Deutsches Institut fr Normung (DIN) connector, and a seven-pole 2m (6.6') cable. A pH electrode is commonly attached to a pH meter to measure the pH of a substance such as water, food, beer, or wine in lab, industrial, and food applications. An internal thermometer sensor in this electrode provides ATC for accurate readings in fluctuating temperatures. The single cloth junction reduces contamination. The polypropylene plastic body with 8mm spherical tip is for general purpose and field applications. An internal amplifier provides a strong low impedance signal from the electrode to the meter. The electrode has calibration check capability when using the HI 9813 series portable meters. A DIN connector provides a tight cable connection and the electrode comes with seven-pole 2m (6.6') cable.

Electrodes are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists in a wide variety of industries, such as aquaculture, agriculture, chemistry, food and beverage, wine-making and water-testing, and for scientific applications. An electrode can be used with a datalogger to assist in temperature measurement.
