The Hanna Instruments HI 981406-02 is a continuous measurement meter of pH and oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV for water treatment and swimming pool applications with manual calibration, two LCD screens, two adjustable setpoints with red flashing LED alarm, a ground probe, and a housing for wall mounting. A pH meter is commonly used to measure the pH of a substance. An ORP meter, also known as a redox potential tester, is used to measure the oxidization or reduction capacity of a solution, and to monitor chemical reactions and ion activity. pH and ORP/mV meters are commonly used for water-testing, pulp bleaching, and for biological sample analysis in swimming pools, cooling towers, waste water treatment, and industrial applications.

The two single-line LCD screens of this meter continually show the pH and mV values. Front trimmers allow manual calibration at one or two points. The meter has two separate adjustable setpoints for pH and ORP with two corresponding LED alarm lights adjacent to the LCDs. The pH setpoint is adjustable from 5.0 to 9.0. The ORP/mV setpoint is adjustable from 350 to 850. The meter has a flat back for wall mounting. The meter also has two BNC connectors protected with waterproof sleeves for connecting with the HI 2114P/2 pH electrode (not included) and the HI 3214P/2 ORP electrode (not included). The HI 1283 ground probe with a 2m (6.6') cable ensures accurate readings and prolongs electrode life. The input impedance is 10 E 12 Ohm and the power supply is 230VAC. The meter also comes with buffer solution sachets, a calibration screwdriver, a 12VDC adapter, and instructions.
