The TPI 376 infrared thermometer with K-type thermocouple input and laser is for measuring temperature in food safety, automotive repair, manufacturing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications. The infrared sensor measures temperature from -50 to 510 degrees C (-58 to 950 degrees F) with an accuracy of + or - 2% of reading or 3.5 degrees F, whichever is greater. The K-type thermocouple sensor measures temperature from -40 to 1200 degrees C (-40 to 2192 degrees F) with an accuracy of + or - 0.5% of reading plus 3 degrees F. The infrared sensor measures temperature from a distance for applications involving hard-to-reach, moving, hot, or electrified equipment. When a K-type thermocouple probe (not included) is plugged into the thermocouple input on the thermometer, the K-type thermocouple sensor takes contact surface temperature measurements and provides a broader temperature measurement range but lower accuracy than a thermistor sensor. The infrared sensor has an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio, which means the measurement field measures approximately 8 feet in diameter when the target is 1 foot away. A built-in laser pointer helps improve aiming accuracy when taking infrared measurements. The thermometer has an adjustable emissivity setting to help improve measurement accuracy on a range of surface types. The LCD screen displays the current measured temperature, it can record the maximum or minimum readings for the session in its internal memory. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. The hold function keeps a measurement on the display so it can be recorded. The display is backlit for readability in low light. The thermometer operates on one 9V battery. A soft carrying pouch helps protect the meter during transport and storage.
