The stainless steel bulkhead fitting provides a watertight seal, and a 1/2" NPT port for attaching a quick disconnect fitting or 1/2" NPT barb on the outside of the kettle, or a 12" Boil Screen or 1/2" NPT barb on the inside of the kettle.
