Product Description
The HI 96803 is a portable waterproof sugar refractometer. The meter measures the refractive index of an aqueous solution and provides results in percentage by weight concentration.
The refractometer uses methodology recommended by the ICUMSA Methods Book (internationally recognized organization for sugar analysis), and provides results in approximately 1.5 seconds. Calibration is performed with either distilled or deionized water, without the need of additional solutions. The light source is a yellow LED, and the sample cell is an SS ring and flint glass prism.
Sugar content range is 0 to 85% (by weight), with resolution + or - 0.1, and accuracy + or 0.2%. Temperature range is 0 to 80 degrees C (32 to 176 degrees F) + or - 0.3 degrees C (0.5 degrees F). Minimum sample volume is 100 ul in order to completely cover prism. The device operates on one 9V battery, and features an auto-off function after three minutes of none-use. Dimensions are 192 x 102 x 67 mm (7.6 x 4 x 2.6") with weight 420g.
