Product Description
The Anaheim Scientific N630 infrared thermometer is for measuring temperature in automotive repair, laboratory, manufacturing, food safety, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications. It measures temperature from -32 to 535 degrees C (-25 to 999 degrees F) with a best accuracy of + or - 2 degrees C (3 degrees F). The infrared sensor takes measurements from a distance for applications involving hard-to-reach, moving, hot, or electrified equipment. The thermometer has a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio, which means the measurement field measures approximately 12 feet in diameter when the target is 1 foot away. It has an adjustable emissivity to help improve measurement accuracy on a range of surface types. A built-in laser pointer helps improve aiming accuracy. The LCD screen displays the current measured temperature, the highest and lowest readings for the session, the average reading for the session, and the difference between two readings. The backlit display is readable in low light. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees C or F. The operator can set high and low temperature alarms to sound when measurements exceed or drop below the preset limits. The thermometer can record and store up to 10 points of data in its internal memory. The thermometer operates on one 9V battery (included) and it automatically turns off after 6 seconds of non-use to conserve battery life. A low-battery indicator alerts the operator when the battery needs to be replaced. It comes with a soft carrying case for transport and storage.

Digital infrared thermometers measure the temperature of surfaces from a distance. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Infrared (IR) thermometers work by focusing the infrared radiation emitted by a surface onto a detector called a thermopile. The thermopile turns the heat into electricity, which is measured and converted to a temperature reading. The reading is then displayed on an LCD display. IR thermometers are used to measure temperature when an object is fragile, as in ear thermometers, or dangerous to be near, as in the case of industrial equipment.
Anaheim Scientific manufactures environment testing tools and supplies. The company, founded in 2005, is headquartered in Yorba Linda, CA.
