The Thermo Scientific Orion Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) probe is an 8-pin Mini-DIN (Deutsches Institut fr Normung) connector, a 0 to 14 pH range and can be used with Orion Star meters. ATC probes are used in conjunction with pH electrodes to adjust pH measurements by correcting the electrode slope according to the measured temperature. The electrode is often used for food samples and organic solvents. pH range is 0 to 14, temperature range is 0 to 100 degrees C (32 to 212 degrees F) and body dimensions are 120 mm (length). The probe is stored in air, and includes a 1 m cable. pH electrodes are used in pH meters and testers to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. They are often constructed of glass, which senses hydrogen ions, and generates a millivoltage that is picked up by the filling solution and transferred to a wire that connects to the pH meter.
